Sound Instrument
Challenge:
Using
your knowledge of sound and how it is created make your own instrument at
home. You may use any materials you may
have laying around your house to complete this project like old milk jugs,
plastic bottles, string, ribbon, boxes, or rubber bands. Remember you can create sounds many different
ways; think of our vocabulary words- striking, plucking, or rubbing. Be creative when designing your
instrument. You must be able to explain
to the class how your instrument was made, how it makes sound, and what kind of
pitch your instrument makes.
I need these
materials for my instrument:

Science day
Today is Science day and so far we have had a wonderful time learning about many different topics.
We started our day learning about snakes and measuring snakes. Next we went to a fire safety class where we learned so much about fire prevention and fire fighters and their gear.
We are now learning about how to make cartilage. Wearing 3D glasses to look at many different pictures of cartilage has been super fun.
During our snake exploration today we were able touch a real snake that Ms. Wall owns. We were even able to see the bulge in the snake's belly to see where he had just eaten a rat last night for dinner.

Bucket filling
While we are practicing random acts of kindness this month I notice the students have really been working hard with one another to be kind. I love how they are encouraging one another with activities and their assignments. Even how they are helping each other more often. It has been great to see just how much a compliment towards a friend can go.
Below was a nice surprise to receive this morning from a student. I am grateful for each child in this classroom and I am so proud of their hard work. Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to work each day with your child it truly is a blessing!

Garden
Mrs. Bortz has been back at it again with helping us with our garden. What a wonderful job she and the students have done planting our spring garden. I hope we get some strawberries!
