Starting a backyard chicken coop #12006Sunday, November 10 from 1 p.m.-3 p.m. at West Point on the Eno Park

Love the taste of fresh eggs and the sound of hens peacefully clucking away in the background? Then it might be time for you to start your own coop. We will discuss the backyard chicken rules in Durham, backyard coop designs, the best family chicken breeds and how to care for them. You'll leave this class with all the tools you need to set up your own coop.

Butter Making at Leigh Farm Park #12008
Saturday, November 16 from 10 a.m.– 12 p.m.

We will briefly go over the history of butter making while making some of our very own butter. This class is for children ages 5 – 12. Parents must stay with their children.

Join local farmer, Samantha Gasson as she teaches about different types of chicken coop designs and why you would want to use a chicken house over a chicken tractor.
